This set give you the tools to have your own homeschool summer reading program. This 9-page file includes 4 full-color summer themed reading incentive charts for kids to record their independent reading in the summer months. This file also includes a teacher instruction page and 4 additional pages with book lists for each theme and family activity reward ideas.
The four themes are: water play, balloons, ice cream treats, and outdoor adventures!
When you purchase the summer reading incentive charts, you can download the file. Print the charts in full color. Set a goal with each child. Make a few trips to the library or provide book baskets for your kids to choose great reads. Build reading time into your summer routine. Mark a spot on the incentive chart for each book or chapter read. At the end of the month, pick one of the family activity rewards or come up with your own!

Download the summer reading incentive charts file. Determine your child’s independent and instructional reading levels. Set a goal for each month. Select the same incentive chart or pick a different chart for each month. Keep a list of the books your child reads on the back of the incentive chart. Mark the spots as books are completed. Help your child self-evaluate whether the monthly goal was reached.
Rewards are mostly fun, summer activities rather than expensive, tangible toys. Have fun with a big outing or a home-based family activity! Celebrate reading!
