Literary Elements Graphic Organizer Set

If you homeschool with books, you likely share wonderful living books with your children. We don’t want to squash that inspired love of reading by doing worksheets that distract the reader from the intrigue of following the story. However, for those of us who use a Charlotte Mason approach,  giving options for oral narration is helpful.  This literary elements graphic organizer can help your students with both reading comprehension, focusing their narration, and organizing their own story writing! The file contains two versions of the same graphic organizer. When you print the grayscale version, make copies as a handout  to complete for book reports! When you print the color version, laminate it for a dry erase writing planner! The consistency for both reading and writing tasks helps struggling students see the structure in stories. Students with special needs often require explicit instruction, and the use of a graphic organizer can help draw out their critical thinking skills. This one works for my students!
