These 1 inch letter tiles are great for creating a magnetic blending tray. Includes color-coded vowels and consonants, consonant digraphs, consonant blends, vowel digraphs, and vowel diphthongs, 3, 4, and 5 space blending frames. Print the 9 pages and laminate. Then place magnet sheets from a craft or office supply store on the backs of the tiles.
The file also includes teacher ideas for how to set up and use the magnetic letter tiles and board for blending and decoding practice and spelling activities. Also, a set up page helps you to know how to set up the letter tiles on a magnetic white board or cookie sheet. If you have multiple kids, you will need a tray for each student.
These letter tiles can be used with any phonics program, but are especially designed to be compatible with the Unique Learners Phonics and Reading System. The blending tray is the launching point to practice decoding and reading words, as well as spelling. From this activity, practice reading words in isolation in the Unique Learners Word Book, reading stories from the UL Readers, and of course, do loads of multisensory spelling activities.
